BONE TUMOR
A bone tumor is an abnormal growth of cells within a bone. A bone tumor may be cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign).
The cause of the tumor is still unknown. These because they often occur in areas where the bone growth rapidly.
Cancer can happen in the bones that having tumor and usually reffered as primary bone tumors.
Bone Tumor Symptoms
Actually, some benign tumor don't have symptoms. But, for certain condition:
- Bone fracture, especially fracture from slight injury (trauma)
- Bone pain, may be worse at night
- Occasionally a mass and swelling can be felt at the tumor site.

Mr Darmin, (51) from Indonesia was diagnosed with bone tumor on his right femur. The tumor size was 7.2 x 7.8 x 6.5 cms. A Histopathology was done on the tumor and was found that the tumor was a High Grade Sarcome, Favour Dedifferentiated chondrosarcome. It was a malignant tumor which shows areas of necrosis and hemorrhage. The tumor cells invade and destroy bony trabeculae. There were also multiple small hypodense lesions that are 2 to 5mm in size in the lungs. His blood test reports also shows his white blood cells are extremely high while his red blood cells are extremely low during his stay at Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (please see the below table). During his stay at Mahkota, there were also signs of the cancer spreading to the lungs and liver. The pain on his hip due to the tumor was also unbearable that he needs to take “Durogesic fentanyl” (a strong prescription pain medication for moderate to severe chronic pain that can provide long-lasting relief from persistent pain). He was advised to amputate his right leg and also go through chemotherapy to stop the spread of cancer to his lungs and liver. Due to his deteriorating condition at Mahkota, he has decided to seek alternative medication.
He first came to see master only 20th Sept 2013 and was told that he needs to undergo intensive treatment that consist of acupuncture, herbal treatment, herbal meals and herbal juice. During his 5 weeks of treatment at The TOLE, the patient has started to walk again using a walking frame in his 2nd week. In addition, the pain that he has been suffering has been more bearable that he is only taking 2 panadols (500mg) when he is in pain. Prior to him returning to Indonesia, the patient went to UM Hospital to do a final check. In the report, there is only a small 2mm calcified nodule in the left upper lobe of lung and it is most likely granuloma. There is small liver cysts and other organs (liver, pancreas, both kidneys and adrenal glands) are normal. The scan also indicates that the chondrosarcoma right proximal femur is with no distant metastases (ie. There is sign that the tumor is not spreading to other parts of the body). Due to the tumor size and also the constant pain that the patient is having, master has advised the patient to amputate his right leg to prevent the tumor from spreading to other parts of the body. Master has also indicate that this is the right time to amputate since the latest results has shown that it did not spread and also his red blood count has increased to 3.4 from 2.3 when he first came to see master. The patient will be having his amputation done in mid November 2013. Thereafter, he will come back to see master for recuperation purposes. |
